Pacific Sunset Home
From the moment we first laid eyes on this home, we were captivated by its architecture. The double-height space was truly inspiring with its soaring ceiling, mezzanine balcony, and expansive windows overlooking the lush green backyard. However, the balcony, hallways, and stairs were closed off by pony walls, which limited the connectivity between spaces.
NEW VISTAS
Persimmon Design’s remodel transformed these elements entirely. The front entry experience was dramatically enhanced by removing pony walls, creating an immediate and expansive view of the Great Room upon entry. Removing pony walls and installing open railings at the balcony and stairway creates a new sense of openness and connectivity that permeates the entire home.
White Oak flooring extends seamlessly throughout the Great Room and Entry Hallway, establishing a harmonious and cohesive aesthetic. Combined with a light paint scheme, it offers a simple and light backdrop that contrasts with the rich, dark wood finishes and the deep, warm hues and textures of the furniture and decor.
We paid homage to the client’s love for dark wood by cladding one of the double height walls with dark reclaimed wood paneling. This feature is highlighted by a continuous cove of warm lighting that accentuates its natural beauty. Natural woven pendant lights anchor the seating area, providing both functionality and a touch of elegance.
An expansive white oak dining table serves as the centerpiece in the dining area, complemented by charming dining chairs upholstered in a salmon boucle fabric with delicate button detailing. A linear pendant light above mirrors the table’s exquisite wood grain, casting a gentle glow over the table. A bronzed convex mirror quietly reflects all the newfound beauty, adding depth and refinement to the overall design.
Our design for the Pacific Sunset Home is a study in contrasts, with punches of warm colors.
The completed space is an ode to the warmth and generous spirit of the family living in this home. Every design choice was thoughtfully crafted to enrich their daily experience and create a home that is comfortable, elegant, sustainable, and functional.
